Its our favourite season here at The Vow Sleepwear. The days are getting warmer & longer, dormant plants are beginning to grow again. Some of my favourite flowers like blossoms and daffodils popping up everywhere. Many animals having their babies and it an great excuse to do a spring clean not only my personal environment but also emotional space.


Here are 5 things that I incorporate into the month of September to gain momentum and clarity and to help ensure that I am living my best life. I hope you find them helpful too.

  1. Go through your home space, say your wardrobe, organise & take a look at your clothes, what haven't you worn for at least 2 years throw it out. You will be surprised at what you find or even forget you have. Sell them on ebay. or donate the items you don't want or wont wear any more.

  2. Throw out old makeup & clean those makeup brushes. Did you know mascaras have life of 6 months. Yes I'm guilty too of using mine for over a year, mum life has changed my daily habits however if you can invest in a new one,- DO IT. When was the last time your cleaned your makeup brushes?

3. What are you doing to look after your mental health? How are you feeling? Now is a good time to get outside and enjoy that sunshine, take a walk, with a friend release those endorphins. Join a gym, or take that yoga pilaties class. I love The Pilaties Class, its an online class and they currently have a 7 day FREE trial. Thank me later!


4. Take a look at your goals if you set any at the start/during the year. If not now is a great time to think about what you would like to manifest or work on (towards) for the rest of the year. I love to do a mood board with my goals/dreams and even more I LOVE IT WHEN THEY HAPPEN & I ACHEIVE THEM. Its even a great time to start thinking what do I want to achieve, what makes me happy.


5. Finally evaluate how much time your spending on your phone/iPad/computer. Yes as much as we love them sometimes there can be too much of a good thing. If your on your phone at night time turn the blue light on or the brightness down.

Life is hectic, responsibility's are upon us, work, life, families & then there is the pressures we put on ourselves.


Ultimately its about being the best version of ourselves and to take it day by day while also being kind to ourselves.


Here are a few things I have learnt along the way.


  1. YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT - How many times have you heard that. Fuel your mind and body with nutritious & a variety of foods. Yes eat that chocolate while being mindful. Drink 8 glasses of water day, your body will love you for it.

  2. MOVE THAT BODY. Take time for exercise, get some fresh air. If you live near a beach or a park take advantage of it and hey take your shoes off especially on grass if your game they say it helps prevent insomnia, reduction in inflammation, helps improve your mental well being, regulates your heart health and is great for your eyes.

  3. SELF DEVELOPMENT - Read, study, do that crossword/wordle. Find something that will help you upskill. Finding hobbies that you can incorporate into your life and that fulfil you. Podcasts are a great way to learn and a free resource.

  4. JOURNAL/MEDITATE - There's something said about writing down your goals and your dreams. Visualise them. Find space & peace with your thoughts. while creating an environment that is nurturing. Something I personally love every 4-6 months is getting a massage or a float, that's an absolute luxury for me.

  5. INDULGE - Bath, shower, scrub, mask, time for you. Slather your whole body in moisturiser and let your skin nourish it all. The skin is the largest organ in the body. I aim to do this at least once a week if possible. Some of my friends swear by fake tan Thursdays. They love a goddess glow which makes them feel super confident.

  6. ENVIROMENT - declutter your space. Take the rubbish out, make your bed., wipe down all the surfaces of your home. Light a candle and even some sage or incense. Go through your clothes, wardrobes and spaces that accumulate things (stuff).. Sell unwanted items or donate them to charity.

  7. TIME/SOCILAISE - Create time for others and surround your self with people that fill your cup. You don't even realise your more than likely filling theirs also. Its times like these that a great belly laugh is good for the soul and the amount of endorphins released is incredibly great for you.

Ok, you just brought a pair of beautiful satin pyjamas from @THEVOWSLEEPWEAR & now its time to wash them.....


You want them to stay soft to touch, luxurious on your skin & you want the colour to NOT fade. Ok so ideally if you want them to stay in the best condition like you have just brought them, you need to hand wash them. Yip it takes time but its so worth it & you will have those pjs for seasons to come.


Follow our steps to keep your satin pjs in the best condition possible & have longevity out of them.

  1. First fill a bucket with cold water & add some delicate laundry powder. (Satin does not tolerate heat and may possibly weaken or even shrink if washed in extremely warm to hot water).

  2. Lift them up and down in and out of the water. Do not wring or aggressively rub the garments as with force this can really damage the material.

  3. Once you feel they are wet throughout & have had a good rinse removing dirt press the water as out of the pjs. I use the palms of my hands.

  4. Then lie flat in shade on a towel.

  5. Once they are semi dry I put them on a coat hanger as this helps get the creases out of them.
